An APP scam payment is considered a Reimbursable APP scam payment if EPS – having conducted an assessment together with us at Monese – determines that:

• The Consumer Standard of Caution Exception doesn’t apply, or you were a vulnerable customer at the time the APP scam payment was authorised

• You’re not party to the fraud

• You’re not claiming fraudulently or dishonestly

• You’re not claiming for an amount that’s the subject of a private civil dispute

• You’re not claiming for an amount that you paid for an unlawful purpose

• You reported the APP scam claim no more than 13 months after the date of the final APP scam payment and for payments made on or after 7 October 2024

• The payment was authorised by you as (i) a consumer and holder of a relevant account with EPS who (ii) holds that relevant account as a consumer

• The payment was executed by EPS from a relevant account located in the UK

• The resulting money transfer was settled through FPS or CHAPS (payments using cash, a cheque, or a credit, debit, or prepaid card aren’t valid for APP scam claims)

• The payment was settled to a relevant account in the UK that isn’t controlled by you

• The payment was executed to the relevant account identified in your payment order, but i) the payment wasn’t to the recipient your intended to receive it, or ii) the payment wasn’t for the purpose you intended

• The payment wasn’t sent or received by credit unions, municipal banks or national savings banks
