If you live in the UK:
If you have a GBP account and live in the UK, there won’t be any changes to how your card or account works. Your account will still be regulated by the FCA and issued in the UK by PPS UK.
After 31 December 2020:
-
You’ll still be able to spend, send and receive money
-
You’ll still be able to send money abroad
-
There won’t be any increase to your fees because of Brexit
If you live in the EEA: it will depend on the use you have given to your account
-
If you haven’t used your GBP account in a while:
If you haven’t used your GBP account in a while, you’ll have already received an email from us with the next steps
To recap: if you’d like to keep your GBP account open, you’ll need to use it (to make a card payment, top-up or receive a payment) by 31 December 2020. If you don’t use it by then, we’ll close your GBP account and you won’t be able to use it anymore.
If you decide to keep it, we’ll move your account to our EU licensing partner PPS EU SA on January 1 2021. We’ll give you a new sort code and account number, which, unfortunately, won’t work for Direct Debits. You’ll still be able to receive payments to your original account number, but we recommend you update to your new one as soon as possible.

If you have an active GBP account:
So we can still give you our services after Brexit, we’ll be moving your account to our EU licensing partner PPS EU SA on January 1 2021.
This means that we’ll give you a new sort code and account number, which, unfortunately, won’t work for Direct Debits. You’ll still be able to receive payments to your original account number, but we recommend you update to your new one as soon as possible.

Opening a GBP account after 1 January 2021:
From Jan 1st 2021 we are temporarily suspending the creation of GBP accounts for customers outside of the UK. We are working on a solution to make this available again in the near future. In the meantime, you can keep enjoying your EUR or RON account(s).
