There are four main ways to add money into your Monese UK accounts:
- Cash top-ups
- UK transfers
- IBAN transfers
- Instant Debit Card Top-up (not available for Monese Business accounts)
To make a cash top-up simply go to any Post Office or Paypoint location in the UK (PayPoint) where you'll be able to present your Monese debit card along with your currency.
On our Plus plan, while paying a £5.95/5.95€ monthly fee, Post Office top-ups cost £1 per transaction and PayPoint top-ups cost 2.5% with no minimum.
On our Classic plan, both PayPoint and Post Office top-ups are within the ” £900/€900 ATM and Cash Top-up allowance. Once exceeded, this will then cost 2% of the transaction amount. The allowance resets each month.
For Monese Premium personal plan customers, all cash top-ups are free of charge.
To transfer funds into your Monese accounts from a UK bank, you will need to enter your Monese account number and sort code. Please ensure that you select the correct account as the personal account and business account have their own separate account number and sort code. These can be both found in the Monese app.

Instant Debit Card Top-up: (applicable for personal accounts only)
To instantly top up your Monese personal account by debit card, you will need to go into your Monese application and enter your debit card information. This can be found under Instant Top-up.
You can choose the amount and have up to 3 different debit cards added at any one time. The card must also be in your name and the funds will show up instantly.
Debit card top-ups are free of charge. Any foreign exchange will be done by the issuer of the debit card used. Please also note that credit cards will not work with this feature.
Monese is currently unable to accept cheques.
